Optimization
Having a web site is crucial to many businesses, but just having one is sometimes not enough. The web designer must optimize your web site so that the search engines will pick it up and people will find it!
Optimization means to make sure that you have the relevant keywords you need that people will not only be using when they search for your product -- but keywords that really apply to your business. Many times search engines will pass a site by when they find too much word padding and not enough relevancy.
In addition, relevant keywords should be placed somewhere in the beginning of your page text so that the search engines will clearly correlate the keywords that are "hidden" behind your web page and the keywords that are plainly displayed in your text. You do not have to use every keyword in your page text, but placing of the most relevant is adviseable.
Most of the major search engines require that you pay to be listed in their site. The Open Source Directory Project is not a paid search engine, but is the largest on the Internet. The Open Source Directory Project is operated by people and not software that "spiders" your web site. When they rate your web site, they actually look at it's content and it's symmetry and creativity.
Once we finish designing your site to your satisfaction, we submit it to search engines that do not charge for submission. Many of the large search engines, such as Yahoo, MSN and Google, use pay-per-click advertising instead of accepting site submissions. To find out more about what this type of advertising costs and how it works, please visit Overture.com (Yahoo's provider of site submissions) and Google.com for more information. Please contact us for more information.
Another way to market your site is to trade links with organizations that your business or organization may be a member of or businesses that can use the business you send them and vice-versa. There are also a number of independent directories online, perhaps in the area where your business is located, that offer paid directory listings, such as the Yellow Pages.
We will help you find the most cost-effective marketing avenue for your site at your request. We do not perform blind site submissions because they are not usually effective in getting your web site listed in the search engines. However, we do optimize your web site by keyword use and effective web site design. We will submit any sites that we design to The Open Source Directory Project, and any additional online marketing strategy that you are interested in. Please contact us for more information.
